Best decision we made for our wedding. Janelle did a tasting with us in February and we ended up changing half the menu based on what she suggested — she actually pushed back on a couple of our ideas (gently) and was right both times. Our guests are still talking about the salmon.

Special note: we had three people with severe nut allergies and one with shellfish — Pike Place gave us a full per-dish allergen sheet and walked through it with us at the rehearsal. That kind of professionalism around food safety is rare.

We’ve used Pike Place for 4 quarterly all-hands now. Theo manages our vendor relationship and I think I’ve sent him maybe 6 emails total in 14 months — he just handles it. Janelle’s team shows up on time, the food is genuinely good (not “good for catering” — actually good), and they leave the conference floor cleaner than we found it.

Pricing isn’t the cheapest. You’re paying for them not breaking, not ghosting, and not feeding 200 people something mediocre. Worth it.

Hired Pike Place for our company holiday party. Food was excellent — the seasonal menu felt thoughtful (parsnip soup that I’m going to be thinking about for months) and the team was professional.

Three-star-not-five reasons: (1) we asked for a vegan option late and they said yes but it was clearly a less polished dish than the rest, which makes sense given lead time but was a slight let-down for our 4 vegan guests, and (2) we were quoted on the higher end and it ended up at the high end +10% once we added a couple of small things. They were upfront about it; just something to factor in.

Would still hire again — the food itself was the best we’ve had at any corporate event.

We hired Pike Place for my mother’s 70th birthday at home. Janelle came over two weeks before to look at the kitchen layout and asked questions about my mom that I wasn’t expecting (she’s vegetarian, mostly Italian-American cooking from her childhood, doesn’t love super-spicy food). The menu came back tailored to that — handmade pasta with a brown-butter sage that I genuinely think was better than anything I’ve had at a restaurant in years.

Marcus and Theo ran the service. They were warm with my parents’ friends, unobtrusive when needed, and somehow had my kitchen completely clean by the time they left. Whatever they’re charging is too low.

The food itself was good. Solid B+. Where things went sideways was logistics: the day of, our timing shifted by 30 minutes (a speaker ran long), and the food was set up cold by the time our team broke for lunch. I told Theo as much and he was apologetic, owned it, and offered a 15% credit on our next event. So the response was right. But for the night-of, we ended up with a buffet of room-temp roast chicken which, honestly, isn’t what we paid for.

Will probably try them again because everyone speaks highly of them, but docking 2 stars on this one. Make sure your day-of timeline is locked in.

Worth every dollar. We had a 165-person wedding at our home in July and Pike Place handled it like it was nothing. The stationed buffet flowed beautifully — no lines, no cold food, no awkward “where do I sit” moment.

The thing that surprised me: their team genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. Servers chatted with my grandmother’s college friends, the bartender remembered my brother-in-law’s favorite gin from the welcome drinks. That kind of warmth doesn’t show up on a quote sheet.

(Also: Janelle held firm on no open buffet, which we initially wanted, and she was right — we would have run out of food.)
